Drawing Book Watercolor Portraits 2020

Today I decided to add up a few picture from my sketch book.

I often use faces to process my emotions. With all that has been going on in the last year, I seemed to have a lot to think about. 2020, what a year Covid-19, Riots, Protests and a wild political climate. There has been plenty of uneasy feeling for me to get through. Below I have picked out a few of my favorite watercolor sketches from 2020. I have tried to show contemplation in all the images using colorful palette choices for each of the different paintings.

I have been slowly learning how to make interesting paintings using spinners that i made out of fans. This project started for the Green Way Glow in Minneapolis. I have continued to use them as well as learning more different pour painting techniques.
