The “Dancing Ladies” reflect my celebration of living, loving and learning that fulfills me while pursuing my creative path. I have used these playful gestural drawings as a starting point and combined them with bold colors to display the feelings of joy and motion while dancing.

I haven't been blogging for a bit, but I am now trying to get back to it. Since about 2015 -2016 I have been working with figures. I am trying different ways to make still posed model drawing into dancing figures.

Stretch them

I have been getting ready for my next set of paintings. This weekend I stretched and primed 4 new canvases. Keep an eye open for up coming paintings. :-)

Experimentation

I am testing out some new mediums. Here are a few pancakes. I have used resin with some and cold wax with the other. I have thinking of trying these products out for a while. We will see where it leads me.

Dance Party Works

Here are close up crops of the new series of mixed media collages/painting that I have been working on. I will be having a critical response critique on February 24th at the NE Bank community room ( 77 Broadway Avenue NE MPLS. MN 55413 from 6pm to 8:45pm.
We will discuss my new painting as well as the new work of Holly Tappen. I am very excited about this:-) & everyone's feed back will be greatly appreciated. Hope you can make it:-)  Katie Palmer
